Planning Your Field Trip

The Wisconsin 9/11 Memorial & Education Center was designed to help students understand the events of September 11th, 2001, learn about the symbolism built into the Memorial, and reflect on the events of that day and the days following the attack.

To request a field trip, please complete the following Google Form. We will make accommodations to fulfill your request or reach out with any questions that we have.

Field Trip Details

  • There is no fee to visit the Memorial
  • The experience typically takes 35 minutes to an hour depending on the size of the class
  • There is easy bus parking on First St. on the north edge of the Memorial
  • Restrooms are available if you schedule the tour in advance
  • A volunteer speaker will be provided if you schedule the tour in advance
  • The Memorial is wheelchair accessible 
  • There are three large picnic tables on the property
  • Field Trip Activity Guides are available. We encourage you to print them off prior to your field trip.

Extending Your Trip

The tour takes approximately 35 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of the class and the age of the students attending the field trip. Many classes use this opportunity to visit other area attractions that can be built into history, social studies, geography, and arts-related lessons.
